Diabetic Retinopathy

Diabetes can cause the blood vessels in your retina to leak, which can cause blurring or dark spots in your vision. There are two types of diabetes and both affect eyes in the same way. Early diagnosis is essential to prevent loss of sight. During your eye examination, your optometrist may recommend the use of our retinal camera to examine the back of your eye. By taking photographs every time you visit, we can detect any changes in your retina and refer you to an ophthalmologist for treatment if necessary.
