A squint, also known as strabismus, is when the eyes do not point in the same direction. One eye may turn inwards, outwards, upwards or downwards while the other looks ahead. Squints are more common in children, and early checks are important to help protect their vision and reduce the risk of the affected eye becoming lazy. Adults can occasionally develop a squint too, which may cause double vision and should be checked as soon as possible. What’s an OCT scan? An OCT scan gives us a more detailed view of the health of your eyes, showing the layers of tissue behind the retina in a way a standard eye test cannot.
